High-dosed multivitamins
There are multivitamins available in various forms and sizes. Some multivitamins contain around 100% of the Recommended Daily Allowance for all vitamins and minerals, while others are significantly higher dosed.
In general, it is primarily the multivitamins that are well-known from television and pharmacies (such as Centrum, Davitamon, Supradyn, etc.) that are relatively low dosed, whereas multivitamins from top brands like Solgar, Source Naturals, AOV, Orthica, and Vitaminhealth are generally much higher dosed.
Particularly, the B vitamins are often much higher dosed in these products. Sometimes, these products contain a high-dosed B-complex, but a relatively low dosage of other nutrients (for example, certain minerals or vitamin D). For instance, the well-known VM-75 contains a high dose of the B-complex (75 mg of each B-vitamin) but a rather low dose of iron (1.2 mg). Thus, just because a particular product is labelled as 'high-dosed' does not mean that all nutrients are high dosed.
