Accessibility Statement – Website – European Accessibility Act (EAA)

Vitaminstore Online B.V.

Service(s) covered by this statement: Online webshop and delivery platform for vitamins, dietary supplements and related products, accessible via www.vitaminstore.nl.

Issue date: 15-01-2026

1. Digital accessibility at Vitaminstore.nl

We believe everyone should be able to use our website independently—whether you’re looking for products, reading information, placing an order or managing your data. That’s why we continuously work on digital accessibility, so that as many people as possible (including those with a disability) can shop without barriers.

The European Accessibility Act (EAA) sets accessibility requirements for digital services such as e-commerce. In the Netherlands, this is regulated, among other things, in the Implementation Act on accessibility requirements for products and services. In this statement we explain how we approach accessibility, what already works well and what we still aim to improve.

2. Relationship with other legislation

In addition to the EAA, we also take other relevant laws and regulations into account, such as:

  • GDPR: Protection of personal data.
  • Telecommunications Act: Rules regarding digital communication and consumer protection.

In practice, these frameworks interact with one another.

3. Description of the service

Via www.vitaminstore.nl we offer a digital ordering service (e-commerce). Visitors can view, compare and order products, with delivery via the delivery options offered on the website.

4. What you can do on the website as a customer

  • Search for, filter and view products and read product information.
  • Add items to your cart, place an order and pay.
  • (Where available) log in and view/manage your details or order history.

Our General Terms and Conditions apply to the use of the website.

5. Accessibility and customer contact

For us, accessibility is more than just technology: if you have questions or run into issues, we want customers to be able to get support as well.

Accessibility contact

Do you have a question, is something not working, or would you like to report an accessibility issue? Send us an email at klantenservice@vitaminstore.nl.

If possible, please describe which page/section it concerns, what you were trying to do, and which assistive technology you use (e.g., screen reader or keyboard), so we can review it specifically.

6. Accessibility options and support (current status)

We design the website so that it is as usable as possible with common assistive technologies and settings, including:

  • Keyboard navigation: The core of the website can generally be operated via keyboard. We have implemented clear improvements here; however, this has not yet been independently assessed by an external accessibility expert or a specialized body.
  • Screen reader support: Where possible, pages and interactions are set up to work with screen readers.
  • Font size and zoom: The website should remain usable when enlarged (browser/OS settings).
  • Responsive design: The layout adapts to different screen sizes.

7. Standards and guidelines applied

We follow the accessibility requirements as they are implemented in practice through:

  • EN 301 549 (accessibility standard for ICT products and services in Europe) and
  • WCAG 2.2 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines).

Where possible, we aim for clear, easy-to-understand texts.

8. Conformity assessment (how we test)

At present, we mainly base our assessment on:

  • Self-assessment and internal checks during design and development.
  • Practical testing on parts of the most important customer journeys (e.g., search, product detail, cart, checkout), including keyboard use.

Important: The website has not recently been fully assessed as part of an independent external audit by a specialized accessibility partner. As a result, there may be issues we have not yet identified.

9. Conformance status

Based on the current internal assessment, we conclude that www.vitaminstore.nl is partially compliant with the relevant accessibility requirements (EN 301 549 / WCAG 2.2 AA). We are actively working on further improvements.

10. Known issues (may not yet be fully compliant)

As no full external audit has been conducted yet, barriers may still exist, for example with:

  • complex interactive elements (such as filters, carousels, modals or dynamic updates);
  • error messages and instructions in forms (e.g., how and when feedback is read out);
  • focus order and focus visibility in edge cases;
  • completeness of accessible names/labels for some buttons or icons.

When reports come in or we find issues, we prioritize solutions based on user impact and frequency.

11. Action plan and continuous improvement

We continuously improve accessibility. This includes, among other things:

  • further refinement of keyboard operation (logical focus, no “focus traps”, consistent operation);
  • improving labels, roles and status messages for screen readers;
  • optimizing forms (input assistance, error handling, clear instructions);
  • regular re-checks after changes and releases.

We update this statement as soon as there are relevant improvements or changes.

12. Statement

Vitaminstore.nl states that www.vitaminstore.nl has been set up with the aim of meeting the accessibility requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA), and that the website is currently partially compliant. We will continue working to remove remaining barriers.
